This summer our family spent 3 weeks in Kansas City and had the most wonderful time. We stayed in Brookside and loved every minute of the charm and accessibility of one of KC's best neighborhoods. We filled our days with trips to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Union Station, The World War 1 Memorial, the KC Zoo... We took in a Royals game, went to a Journey Concert at Starlight Theatre, hit up some favorite restaurants (La Bodega, Blue Bird Bistro, Heirloom Bakery to name a few). And we even managed to fit in some grown up fun at The Up/Down Arcade, The Green Lady Lounge, and a special birthday celebration with dear friends at Tiki Cat and Off Key Karaoke. It was an amazing trip! After living in Kansas City full time for 7 years in my 20's, the city carved out a permanent spot of love in my heart. It is true that Midwesterners are friendly people. Thank you Kansas City for such a hospitable, lovely, memorable summer! We hope to see you again soon! This little shoot of our daughter Evie took place on The Country Club Plaza on one of our last mornings in KC. She is such a fun little model! We've also enjoyed our past Kansas City weddings and other shoots- check them out here. Kansas City is like home to us and we are always ready for another visit- so please don't hesitate to reach out about your Kansas City wedding or tell a friend about us! No travel fees!
We are truly fortunate to have an amazing group of friends in our local SWFL wedding community. Nanette and her husband Karl are two of those friends we grow more and more grateful for with passing time. Ironically, we met when I was pregnant with our daughter Evie, and it is so fun to see their family grow now. I look up to Nanette for her amazing style and natural grace. You can see it in her home, her dress, and the way she carries herself. So really, I blame her for the volume of photos to follow... it's just so hard to narrow down my faves! Also, creative vision credit for some of these photos goes to her- like the darling close up of her belly with Karl and their pups! I had so much fun with this shoot and I'm so happy that she invited me to be a part of these memories!
Sometimes the rehearsal dinner is as pinalicious as any wedding... Such was the case with Mary & Will's seaside nautical affair in Naples, FL, the collaboration of a wonderful team of wedding vendors: Kelly McWilliams (planning/design), Isn't She Lovely Florals, Sperry Tents, None Other (music), and Tastebuds Custom Catering. So many fresh coastal details... Enjoy!
There is something truly magical about Sanibel Island sunsets, particularly at Casa Ybel, where the light drops just around the bend and yields the softest, dreamiest colors. Add to all this the elegant styling and florals of Elleson Events, plus a sweet and gorgeous bride and groom and we have a photographer's dream. :)
Happy Valentine's Day, loves! We hope you enjoy this romantic little wedding at one of our favorite destinations, Casa Ybel on Sanibel Island. Ashley and Meg were so much fun to photograph... Their love and laughter was positively contagious. We bet you can't look though their photos and not find yourself smiling too. And don't you just love that bouquet from Say it With Flowers? Looks like fresh picked wild flowers! Such a fresh and natural look!
Natalie and Jesse are just the sweetest... When we said good night on their wedding day she said "I'll miss you!" We miss them! :) Enjoy this classic Cà d'Zan affair. We can't get enough of these subtle neutrals and lush greens. The ceremony in front of the Banyans felt so far removed from the rest of the world. Can you tell how I love to take pictures of people taking selfies? Sorry, there are a few. I just think it's the cutest.

This was our first visit to Longview Mansion in Lees Summit, MO. It took one quick look around for us to fall in love with this gracious, historic venue. The only thing more lovely than Longview was Coulter and Teresa. I adored working with them during their Naples, FL engagement session, and by the time we saw them at the wedding it felt like we were old friends! We had a blast working with them and especially loved our portrait time with the two of them. They gave us their trust and their time and the resulting pictures exceeded even our hopes. <3
